Statement of Intent

My name is Lauren Carslake and I am currently studying A2 Media Studies. This year for my coursework I am creating a blog where I have posted my preliminary music video and I am going to do lots of research and planning where I will go in-depth covering the mise en scene and other elements of media as well as creating a music video and a promotional package for an artist.

Last year I created a blog for my AS Media coursework where I researched a school magazine and created my own for my preliminary task and went onto research music videos, industries, took a photo shoot and created my own music magazine for a pop artist. Although I believe I had good time management and organisation skills to get all my work in at a deadline set, this year I will have to work differently with time considering I am working with a partner (Laura Sell) to get our work in on time. For example, we can create a schedule of when we can do work outside of our lesson and to keep us on task to get our work done to its best standard.

By the end of this year, I plan to have made a professional product to promote an artist with the typical conventions of a music video and digipaks. This will allow me to work on developing my creativity and technical skills. I look forward to developing my skills on photo shop as I will use it for creating my poster and digipak. I will then create my music video with final cut which I am looking forward to getting to use so that I can learn new technical skills.
